My First Grammy Award

Finally on Dec 21st INE put my name on it's blog with a little thanks note and a lovely gift. Though CCIE is not finished yet but it's nice to see that a major CCIE vendor and elite team of experts recognized your name.


Feels like I got my first Grammy Award.  

But CCIE number is yet to come. So need to put lots of hard work in coming months.


But another thing I forgot to mention above is that it was second time when I found my name on INE blog. :-)

GNS Ver 7.3 Launched - With Many Fixes & New Features

Yesterday GNS3 Launched its new version of Graphic Network Simulator as Ver 0.7.3. The newer version has lots of new features and fixes including L3 switch as separate device which basically allows you to run L3 switch with 3700 Router IOS.

No OEQs for Cisco 360 degree program students

Beginning April 1, 2010, Cisco will allow Cisco 360 Learning Program students who attend a Cisco CCIE® Routing and Switching or CCIE Voice workshop to request a waiver and skip the Core Knowledge Section of the CCIE lab exam.  All waiver requests must be approved by the workshop instructor.  No end date for the Core Knowledge Waiver has been announced, but Cisco will provide at least 60 days’ notice before discontinuing the waiver.

During a Cisco 360 Learning Program workshop, students complete a series of performance assessments that demonstrate their understanding of the CCIE material and serve the same purpose as the Core Knowledge section of the exam.  Therefore, Cisco 360 Learning Program students who use the waiver will not be required to type out answers to the Core Knowledge questions and will be allowed to move immediately to the next section of the lab exam.

To qualify for the waiver, workshop students should contact their instructor 45 days in advance of their scheduled lab exam and provide the following information:

• Student's name
• Student's email address
• Student’s Cisco.com username
• Name, date, and location of workshop attended
• Student’s scheduled lab date and location

CCIE R&S 4.0 Troubleshooting Section Details

Recently there was video prodcast happened on CCIE R&S 4.0 Troubleshooting Section. So below are the little details announced by Maurilio who is the content designer for CCIE R&S Lab:

    * we may have 9 -12 tickets on troubleshooting
    * each ticket will be independent in configuration prospects. i.e. it will not  
       effect any other trouble tickets configuration or working
    * one can expect from 6, 15 upto 30 routers in troubleshooting section.
    * No layer 2 switching tickets will be presented in troubleshooting section.
    * Troubleshooting section may end up with 20 to 25 points.
    * 2 nos. of layer 2 switching troubleshooting will be there in configuration 

       section.

 It is mandatory to pass each section.....

OEQ == 4 Ques... answer 3 to pass

Troubleshooting == 80 %

Configuration == 80%

Cisco Revising CCIE R&S Certification

NEW: Troubleshooting

Beginning October 18, 2009, the CCIE R&S lab exam will feature a two-hour troubleshooting section. Candidates will be presented with a series of trouble tickets for preconfigured networks and need to diagnose and resolve the network fault or faults. As with the configuration section, the network must be up and running for a candidate to receive credit. Candidates who finish the troubleshooting section early may proceed on to the configuration section, but they will not be allowed to go back to troubleshooting since their equipment will need to be reinitialized for the configuration portion.
